Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • ⅓ cup finely diced yellow onion (about 1 small onion)
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ⅓ cup ketchup
  • 3 teaspoons dill pickle relish
  • 10 slices (8 ounces) cheddar cheese
  • 4 ounces Monterey jack cheese (shredded)
  • 2 (12 count) packages Hawaiian rolls or slider buns
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 12 teaspoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion. Cook, breaking the meat into small pieces until no longer pink.
  2. Remove from heat and drain if needed. Stir in salt, garlic powder, pepper, mayonnaise, ketchup, and pickle relish.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Slice the rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves on the baking sheet.
  5. Place the cheddar cheese over the bottom buns. Spoon the meat mixture evenly on top.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded Monterey jack cheese on top and place the top halves of the buns back on.
  7. Melt the butter and brush it over the tops. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes or until the cheese melts and sliders are warmed through. Slice into individual sliders and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, mix in spices like paprika. Consider adding pickles for extra crunch.
